Established in 1858 and based in the Hunter Valley, Tyrrell’s has an extensive product range including several iconic Australian classics and is a leader of the Australian wine sector.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to embed and grow the Tyrrell’s wine brand across the Sydney North and Central Coast region, putting wine in the hands of people who love a quality wine experience. As an Area Manager you will be focusing your time and energy developing credible and trustworthy relationships with your customer base which consists of both on and off premise accounts. You will be spending the majority of your time visiting clients face to face and developing those trusted relationships. It will also see you:

  • Attend the monthly Sales Meeting with the whole team for development, account planning, wine education, tastings, business planning, and product reviews.
  • Get the experience of running your own micro business through being accountable for sales targets, expenses and accounts. This includes managing your own time and appointments depending on releases of wines and seasonality.
  • Researching and finding new accounts in your area.
  • Educating your clients on the Tyrrell’s portfolio of wines, our brand story as well our point of difference.

About you:

First and foremost, you have a genuine passion for food and wine.

You probably describe yourself as empathetic, persuasive, and service oriented. You love motivating others while being aware and responsive of their needs and concerns. For you it’s all about building positive and collaborative relationships and you’re happy to lead the conversation. You love persuading others through educating and teaching and are always genuinely interested in the needs of others. You thrive on the fact that each day is different and take enjoyment from organising your days and weeks to make use of your time and schedule. You pride yourself on following up on promises and provide the best experience for your customers.

What you bring to the role:

  • Excellent wine knowledge (WSET 1 and 2 preferred).
  • Previous sales or customer service experience face to face.
  • Proven track record in the wine industry and/or Account Management/Sales.
  • Technology savvy – enjoys using software to track and organise their accounts.
  • Own your own car (allowance provided) with a full NSW drivers licence.
  • Ideally you are located in the Northern Region of Sydney.
