Semillon Triumphs Once More: Tyrrell’s Celebrates Multiple Wins at the Hunter Valley Wine Show

Tyrrell’s Semillons are in the spotlight once more having won six Trophies and a Wine of Provenance Award at the CCL Hunter Valley Wine Show today in Pokolbin.

Accepted by fourth and fifth generations Bruce Tyrrell, Jane Tyrrell and Chris Tyrrell and their staff at the award ceremony in the Hunter Valley today, the 2013 Single Vineyard Belford Semillon dominated, winning the following trophies: Best Two-Year-Old and Older Semillon, Best Single Vineyard White Wine, Best Semillon, Best Single Vineyard Wine, Best White Wine of the Show.

The Vat 1 Semillon was awarded the Best Museum White Trophy for the 2006 vintage and Wine of Provenance for the 2021, 2013 and 2006 vintages. This is the ninth Wine of Provenance Tyrrell’s has been awarded at the Hunter Valley Wine Show, where several Tyrrell’s top Semillons (Vat 1, Stevens, Belford and HVD) have won this prestigious award.

A limited quantity of 2013 Belford Semillon is now available for pre-order purchases directly from Tyrrell’s at RRP $100 per bottle and will be released on 1 November 2022. The 2021 Vat 1 Semillon is also currently available to purchase exclusively via Tyrrell’s Private Bin membership.

The triumph of Semillon as a varietal continues, and re-affirms Tyrrell’s standing as the best Semillon producer in the world.
