Special Release Verdelho is a blend of two of the best parcels of Verdelho fruit of the vintage. This wine was sourced from the Pokolbin Hills and Stevens vineyards which are both situated at the southern end of Pokolbin, at the base of the Brokenback range.
The harvest period was relatively stress-free without any adverse conditions such as rain or heat. Harvest took place in the early hours of the morning when the fruit is at its coolest. The grapes were lightly pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures before bottling early to maintain freshness.
An unwooded, early drinking style, the wine has intense varietal characteristics with aromas of limes, sweet fruit, and some spice. The fruit sweetness on the palate is balanced by a refreshingly crisp acid finish.
