The grapes for our Beside Broke Road Pinot Gris were sourced from Bendigo, a wine region in central Victoria with a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and wet winters. After being harvested in the very early hours of the morning, when the fruit is at its coolest, the grapes were lightly pressed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures. The wine then spent an extended time on yeast lees to gain extra complexity and texture.
This is a classic, cool-climate-style Pinot Gris showing lifted citrus notes with a hint of pear and ginger. The palate continues these citrus and pear flavours with the lovely fine-grained texture and soft acid finish that are hallmarks of the variety. Light and fresh with a hint of spice. Perfect with Asian food.
